8th science

Today, we are working on your presentations in the lab. I want you to log in to this site and go through a couple of the sites on presentations. After you have some ideas on what a good presentation should look like, come back to today's post and leave me a comment. Include your name (first name and last initial) and two or three ideas that you got from the pages that you visited.

7th science

Today's agenda:
  • Researching project ideas in the library

We will be going over to the library to research ideas for your science fair project. You will first have to log on to this blog. Then go to the Science Buddies link and go through the questionare. Once you have your list of projects, narrow it down to two or three ideas. You will then go back to the blog and leave me a comment. Your comment should include the following information: The titles of your top two or three ideas in ranking order and your name. I'm trying to get you to use this blog more and more for communicating with me, getting homework and assignments, and homework help. This is the future, get used to it.

  • Discuss Ecoproject presentations

Today in class we will be going over the expectations for the group presentations. Remember that your group is responsible for TEACHING the other groups about your ecosystem. You have a lot of creative freedom here in how you want to approach this. Each presentation will be a minimum of 10 minutes and a maximum of 20 minutes. I will encourage you to come up with some kind of activity for the class to do.

You should be working to finish a rough draft of your group report by the end of class time today. Early next week you will have an opportunity in English class to edit. Groups should also be working on the Power Point and your individual reports. Refer to your project guidelines sheet to get these done.

As you finish the research worksheet you should have a very good idea of the various factors that make up your ecosystem. You should also have a good handle on the issues that are affecting your ecosystem and it's populations. You need to start organizing your group reports and getting some things down. Use your guideline sheet to help you with this and brainstorm how you want to put this together.
